A Musical A Christmas Story At Walnut Street Theatre

A Christmas Story - A Musical At The Walnut Street Theatre

‘Family Holiday Fun!’

Enjoy a family treat that makes its Philadelphia debut,  A Christmas Story.

This Broadway musical, held at the Walnut Street Theatre, is a comedy that many will love. The musical is based on the 1983 motion picture A Christmas Story and on the book In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash written by Jean Shepherd.

The story takes place in the 1940’s in Indiana, as nine-year-old Ralphie Parker wants only one thing for Christmas: Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle. Ralphie’s desire is rejected by his mother, his teacher Miss Shields, and even a department store Santa Claus, all giving him the same warning: “You’ll shoot your eye out.”

A Christmas Story captures holiday fun with heartfelt songs, outrageous pink bunny pajamas, a kooky leg lamp, a cranky department store Santa and a triple-dog-dare to lick a freezing flagpole, all of which are obstacles that stand between Ralphie and his Christmas dream of obtaining the BB Gun.

The book for this musical is by Joseph Robinette  and the music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

A Christmas Story is a must see holiday musical for the family that will entertain you from start to finish.
