This weekend kicks off with the continuation of the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, the beginning of the Chinese Lantern Festival, the beginning of the Philadelphia Science Festival, 4th Friday in Headhouse District, the continuation of the exhibits at Penn Museum, the Barnes Foundation, the Academy of Natural Sciences and the Franklin Institute. During the weekend enjoy the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts Street Fair, FREE yoga, farmers’ markets, magic shows and much more. The weekend ends with the 10th Annual El Carnaval de Puebla en Filadelfia, East Passyunk’s Flavors of the Avenue, an Irish Session at the Plough and the Stars and a magic show.

During the week enjoy FREE Jazz Night at The Fine Palate, the start of Philadelphia Black Pride, Penn’s Relay, Philly tech Week and much more.

• The Golden Age of King Midas Exhibit ~ April 22 to November 27 ~ Held at Penn Museum, get acquainted with the Golden Age Of King Midas Exhibit and find out the hidden story of the golden touch, aka the Midas golden touch. • Penn Relays ~ April 28 – 30 ~The Penn Relays (also Penn Relays Carnival) is the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States, hosted annually since April 21, 1895 by the University of Pennsylvania at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It regularly attracts more than 15,000 participants from high schools, colleges, and track clubs throughout North America and abroad. ~ Penn Relays at Franklin Field ~

• 10th Annual El Carnaval de Puebla en Filadelfia ~ April 24 ~ 8 am – 6 pm on Washington Ave:  The festival transports an authentic Cinco de Mayo celebration to Washington Avenue in Philadelphia. Modeled after the colorful parades and street fairs that mark Mexico’s military victory over invading foreign forces, Philadelphia’s festivities attract thousands of locals and participants from around the U.S. and Mexico. Many of the dancers don ornate costumes and oversized masks that were made in Mexico and represent historic figures and folk dramas.
