MALVERN, PA — Since its opening, The Buttery has become a staple of the Malvern community, known for its artisanal breads, golden pastries, and bustling daytime energy. Beginning April 9, 2026, that experience is officially expanding as the café debuts its first-ever evening dinner service.
The transition marks a significant milestone for the local favorite, moving from a morning coffee-and-toast destination to a relaxed, elevated evening hangout. While the café will maintain its standard 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours, the new service allows neighbors to enjoy the space well into the night.
The New Evening Rhythm
The Buttery is striking a unique balance between a traditional restaurant and its established counter-service roots. For dinner, the café will maintain its 62-seat indoor space (along with the patio for the upcoming warmer months), where guests will continue to order at the counter before having their meals brought directly to their tables.
Dinner Hours:
- Sunday – Wednesday: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Thursday – Saturday: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Note: The kitchen will briefly close from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily to prep, though the space remains open for coffee, bread, and pastries.
A Menu Rooted in Local Soil
Consistent with their commitment to seasonal cooking, the evening menu centers on wood-fired flavors and hyper-local sourcing. The stars of the show are the hot Neapolitan pizzas, featuring high-quality ingredients like pistachio pesto and hot honey.
Menu Highlights Include:
- Artisanal Pizzas: From the classic Margherita to the fiery Soppressata Picante and a seasonal Spring Roasted Vegetable topped with whipped ricotta and roasted asparagus.
- Shareable Plates: A diverse list of small bites including Polpette (meatballs), Crispy Pork Belly, Potato Pierogi, and Rose Harissa Oyster Mushrooms with garlic dill yogurt.
- Fresh Greens: Spring-forward dishes like the Spring Pea Burrata with fava beans and za’atar lemon.
- The Legend: No visit to The Buttery is complete without their homemade artisanal bread and butter flight, which remains a centerpiece of the new evening experience.
Community & Atmosphere
The shift to dinner service isn’t just about the food—it’s about extending the sense of community the café has built since its inception. By staying open later, The Buttery aims to offer a “relaxed yet elevated” alternative to the traditional Malvern dining scene, perfect for a casual mid-week meal or a weekend wind-down.
Whether you’re stopping in for a bottle of mussels or a sourdough flight, the goal remains the same: thoughtful cooking in a space that feels like home.
