A “Freedom from Gluten” Cake-Cutting Ceremony to Kick Off the Festivities
In a unique fusion of history and inclusivity, the 2026 Wicked Gluten Free Expo will mark America’s 250th anniversary with a special “Freedom from Gluten” cake-cutting ceremony. The event begins promptly at 10:00 am, featuring a massive, tiered cake designed and baked by The Happy Mixer Gluten Free Bakery, a beloved regional staple with locations in Chalfont, Newtown, and Wayne.
“Our cake celebrates America’s 250th birthday while also recognizing another kind of freedom—the freedom that comes from having safe, delicious food you can trust,” says Lisa Mourer, who co-founded The Happy Mixer with her husband, Kevin. “For many families, finding a place where everything is gluten-free is incredibly freeing, and we wanted the cake to reflect that feeling.”
The ceremony will feature local dignitaries and elected officials, with the first 100 guests receiving a complimentary slice of the commemorative creation. It’s a perfect opening act for a day dedicated to celebration, community, and the accessibility of safe dining.
