RIVERTON, NJ – The Early Bird, a cherished cafe located at 519 Howard St., is ready to spread its wings this fall under new ownership.
The news was shared by the outgoing owners in a recent social media post, which expressed immense gratitude for the local patrons who helped the business thrive. “We are thrilled to share that we have found the perfect buyers to carry on the Early Bird tradition!” they wrote. “Thanks to our amazing community, this little café has grown into something truly special—and we couldn’t be more excited for its next and even better chapter.”
Stepping in to guide that next chapter are Josh Evans and Chris Donnelly, the team behind Common Grounds. The duo will be taking over The Early Bird’s Riverton location, promising to continue the legacy that customers have come to love.
For patrons wanting to say their farewells to the original team, this is the final week. The outgoing owners confirmed that it will be “business as usual” with their crew remaining at the helm through the end of September. They have extended a warm invitation for customers to visit, share memories, and learn more about the cafe’s future.
During this final week of the transition, The Early Bird will maintain the following hours:
- Tuesday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Saturday & Sunday: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. (breakfast only)
The sale marks a significant moment for the local eatery, celebrating its past success while looking forward to its continued tradition of community and good food under the experienced new leadership of Evans and Donnelly.
