‘Enjoying Fabulous Food On 2nd Street In Old City’

Back again for week number 2, July 24 to 26! There is one little twist now! In order to drink, you must order food, unless you order beers and drinks to go. And in order to keep drinking, you still must have food in front of you while eating. You figure it out.

Welcome to the first street closure for city dining in Old City Philadelphia!

Thanks to the hard work of the Old City District and their staff, and the City of Philadelphia for granting the permit needed to allow this to happen!

Considering what has taken place the first half of 2020, there was certainly a special vibe that was felt up and down 2nd Street on Friday night, July 17! Not only did everyone seem to be enjoying themselves, all of those who were involved, they certainly made sure that there was social distancing between their restaurants and the tables that were located on the street and the sidewalk.

During the Old City Dining Room street closure, patrons can enjoy such restaurants and bars as the Plough and the Stars, Nick’s Bar and Grille, JJ Bootleggers, Royal Boucherie, Cuba Libre, Vista Peru, Khyber Pass Pub, Brownies Pub and Bleu Martini. And you can still enjoy outdoor dining at The Continental (at Market & 2nd St) and Rotten Ralph’s (at Chestnut & 2nd St), who both have tables on the sidewalks outside of their establishments.
