The Plough & the Stars is an Irish Pub and Restaurant located in Old City, Philadelphia. At times when walking into the Plough, you will hear Irish tunes in the background, almost making you feel like you are in an Irish Pub in Ireland. If you are lucky enough, one of your bartenders could be John Joe, who will entertain you with his real Scottish accent.

The Plough rotates eleven different types of draft beers from countries such as Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United States. They even go as far to having five different types of mix and matches, mixing beers with other beers or even cider.

With so many Irish Bars in Philadelphia, the Plough and the Stars Irish Pub in Old City Philaldelphia has a great atmosphere for any kind of occasion. Whether you want to meet a few friends out, enjoy a hearty meal, or even hold an event or meet-up; the Plough can accommodate you either upstairs, the down stairs bar area, or even the fireplace area. The icing on the cake is the Plough’s friendly wait staff, the bartenders, and even the hostess who all make you feel welcomed and at home.

Update as of 1/3/12 – Met someone and his girlfriend through Twitter who is visiting Philadelphia from England. We met at the Plough and the Stars last night. Not only a great time, but we had another great bartender, Jasmine. She made us very comfortable, made us laugh, and had we all had a great time. Just proof that the Plough has a great staff.

  • Brunch 10.30am to 3.30pm (Sat & Sun)
