Philadelphia Eagles 2012 – 13 Season ~ Who is Excited!!

‘Super Bowl or Bust?’

Who is truly excited about the Philadelphia Eagles this season!

Sure, we had been labeled the “Dream Team” last year. Michael Vick has called the Eagles a “Dynasty”, and we haven’t even one a Super Bowl yet. Everything aside, someone must think we are good this year, because Vegas has the Eagles at 12/1 to win the Super Bowl.

The Eagles kick-off their season by playing the Cleveland Browns tomorrow at 1 pm. In our opinion, they have a semi-tough schedule this year, playing the :

  • defending National Champions, the New York Giants team twice
  • a good Cowboys team twice
  • a very good young quarterback, Cam Newton of the Panthers
  • the Pittsburgh Steelers
  • a could-be-tough Falcons team
  • the Baltimore Ravens

The thirteen teams that the Eagles play, we predict that four of them should be play off bound.

The Eagles did lose Jason Peters to a ruptured his Achilles tendon injury, which really hurts. But the offensive line has had time to work in the off-season. The team has made some very good moves in the off-season, one of which was signing Demeco Ryans from the Houston Texans.

Andy Reid and the front office impressed us with a very good draft, not only grabbing Fletcher Cox in the first round, but getting Mychal Kendricks in the second round, who might be the surprise of the draft.  Many questioned taking Nick Foles in the third round, but he has really impressed us and will be the back-up to Vick. If Vick does go down at any period of the season, we like Foles to jump in and help this team get to the play offs.

Resigning DeSean Jackson, LeSean McCoy getting a 6 year extension, resigning Hermans, and resigning Trent Cole was also huge. The Eagles, in my opinion, have one of the best rotating defensive lines in football, and this should help out their linebackers and secondary to clamp down.

There is no denying that the Philadelphia Eagles have the talent. Yes, they had the talent last year, but when you bring in gifted players and don’t get much of a chance to practice, it can hurt and it did. It takes a while sometimes for players to gel with each other. All we know is that we are excited about this year’s season! Go Eagles!!
