Philadelphia Shake Shacks Offering Free ‘Big Shack’ Burger to Veterans

The nationwide promotion celebrates those who served and coincides with the launch of the chain’s newest, biggest burger.

Shake Shack is honoring active military members and veterans this Veterans Day with a complimentary burger. On Tuesday, November 11, all four Philadelphia-area Shake Shack locations will join participating stores nationwide in offering a free Big Shack to any service member or veteran who shows a valid military ID.

The offer, available all day while supplies last, also serves to launch the new menu item. The Big Shack, priced at $9.99, is described as the chain’s “boldest, most craveable burger yet.”

The new burger features two 100% Angus beef patties, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, hand-sliced onions, and dill pickles. In a nod to other iconic burgers, it also includes a “bonus bun in the middle” and is finished with a new “secret sauce.”

To receive the free burger, veterans and active-duty military must show their military ID when ordering in-person at the counter.

It’s important to note the offer is not valid for orders made on the Shack App, the website, or through third-party delivery apps. The deal is limited to one free Big Shack per person and cannot be combined with other offers.
