PHILADELPHIA, PA—To celebrate Philadelphia’s rich culinary heritage, Herr’s, a beloved local snack maker, has released three limited-edition chip flavors inspired by iconic dishes from small food businesses across the city.
Herr’s Unveils 3 New Chip Flavors Inspired by Local Culinary Gems
The Flavored by Philly Local Eats contest, now in its third year, is a testament to Herr’s commitment to the community and its vibrant food scene. With over 1,051 flavor submissions, the contest showcases the diversity and creativity of Philadelphia’s culinary landscape.
The three finalists, each representing a unique flavor profile, are now available for purchase at major retailers and online. They are:
- Talluto’s: Cheese Ravioli and Marinara: A savory tribute to the pasta pioneer since 1967, this flavor captures the essence of Talluto’s robust cheese ravioli and bright marinara sauce.
- Mom Mom’s Kitchen: Potato Pierogi: A taste of homemade comfort food, this flavor evokes the sweet, creamy, and tangy notes of Mom Mom’s signature potato pierogi.
- Romano’s Stromboli: Special Hot: A fiery homage to a Philadelphia institution since 1950, this flavor encapsulates the city’s bold spirit with a blend of cheese, heat, and tradition.
Herr’s invites the public to participate in a taste test and vote for their favorite flavor online until August 9th, 2024. The lucky individual who nominated the winning flavor will receive a $5,000 prize, while the small business behind the flavor will be awarded a $10,000 grand prize.
With its commitment to community and passion for flavor, Herr’s continues to elevate Philadelphia’s culinary scene, one chip at a time.
