We are beginning March in Philadelphia with a bang. The Philadelphia Flow Show begins this weekend and is a must see in the City of Philadelphia. If you go to the Philadelphia 76’ers game tonight, you get to take home a piece of history with you. So, who is ready for March.

No matter if you are single, with the family, or those that are visiting Philadelphia there are always many things to do in Philadelphia. Things To Do In Philadelphia this Weekend – March 2nd – 4th

  • Philadelphia Sixers Special ~ March 2 ~ The Philadelphia 76’ers will host a Wilt Chamberlain Night tonight to honor the 50th anniversary of his NBA-Record 100-pt game. Each person will be given a small section of the original floor that he broke this record on.  ~ Philadelphia Sixers Wilt Chamberlain Night ~
  • First Friday in Philadelphia ~ March 2 ~ On the first Friday of every month, some of the art galleries stay open late to show off their art, while serving food and drinks. Possibly your chance to also talk to some of the local artists and or art directors of the galleries. ~ First Friday’s in Philadelphia ~
  • Ice Skating ~ Now through March 4 ~ This is your last chance to ice skate outdoors until next season. A chance to enjoy a weekend with family while ice skating at the Blue Cross RiverRink at Penn’s Landing. ~ Blue Cross RiverRink~
  • The Philadelphia Flower Show ~ March 4 – 11 ~ If you haven’t been to Hawaii, Hawaii comes to you in Philadelphia. With 25 foot waterfalls, stunning flower and garden arrangements, and an opportunity to participate in a traditional Hawaiian luau, featuring hula dancing, music and chants. ~ Philadelphia Flower Show~

  • Philadelphia Boat Show ~ March 2 – 4 ~ With a ton of boats on display, this will be the only boat show in the Philadelphia region in 2012. ~ Philadelphia Boat Show ~
  • Kimmel Center ~ March 3 ~ Free show. We all love free things, right? “Live from the Plaza Stage” will be the Tamer Tewfik Jazz Ensemble– An opportunity to catch up and coming local performing artists. The show runs from 6-7 pm. ~ Free show at the Kimmel Center in Philly~
  • Fundraiser ~ March 5 ~  Love quizzo? How about Philadelphia Flyers trivia? This event is to help support Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation. ~ Fundaraiser – Flyers trivia Quizzo at Fado ~
  • Bruce Springsteen ~ Feb. 17 – Sept. 3 ~ Springsteen comes to the National Constitution Center. The first exhibit of Bruce Springsteen to ever be seen outside the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You will have the opportunity to view more than 150 artifacts, videos of his first successful audition, and much more. ~ Bruce Springsteen exhibit~
  • Van Gogh Exhibit ~ Feb. 1 – May 6 ~ This exhibit could be a once in a lifetime Art exhibit, especially if you an art lover and appreciate talent. How exciting, especially since Philadelphia will be the only place in the United States to hold this exhibit. If you are visiting Philadelphia, you are in luck. ~ Van Gogh Exhibit~
  • Dinosaurs at the Franklin Institute – Now through April 15 – Like dinosaurs? Come check out some newly discovered dinosaurs from the last two decades. Get to see some up close and personal. ~ Mysterious Dinosaurs~
  • Design Zone ~ Now through April 1 ~ The Design Zone is held at the Franklin Institute. As a kid, here is your chance not only to be very creative, to use your creative juices, but get to be an adult. You might get to build a skate park. Or a roller coaster.   • Liberty Bell – Symbol of American Independence – If you are visiting Philadelphia, this is one site that must be seen. ~ Liberty Bell~
  • Elfreth’s Alley ~ Get to walk down a street with 300 years of history. Elfreth’s Alley is one of the oldest continuously inhabited residential streets in America. ~ Elfreth’s Alley ~
  • Philadelphia City Hall ~ Like Architecture? Philadelphia History? They give tours of the Philadelphia City Hall. If you go up high enough, you get to see the whole city. ~ Philadelphia City Hall~
  • Philadelphia Museum of Art – So many things that surround this museum. The “Rocky” Steps or the “Rocky” statue. A great view down Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Behind the museum, you can view Boat House Row and a few other things. ~ Philadelphia Museum of Art~
  • Betsy Ross House – Did Betsy Ross actually make the American Flag? Learn about some of Philadelphia’s earliest history. ~ Betsy Ross House~
  • Independence Hall – This is where the Declaration of Independence was adopted and where the Constitution of the United States was debated, drafted and signed. ~ Independence Hall~
