There are always some things to do in Philadelphia. We like to share those events and attractions that will only be around for a short time. Are you visiting Philadelphia this weekend? You will be in luck in regards to a few special events this weekend. Here are a few highlighted events or attractions for this weekend in Philly of for the entire month of February.
Things To Do In Philadelphia this Weekend – Feb. 10th-12th
- Manayunk On Ice – 2/10-2/12 – A live ice bonfire tonight, 2/10, kicks of the weekend event. Then on Saturday and Sunday, watch national ice carvers from around the world carve original ice sculptures. Takes place on Main Street in Manayunk. ~Click Manayunk On Ice ~
- Van Gogh Exhibit ~ 2/1 – 5/6 ~ This exhibit could be a once in a lifetime Art exhibit, especially if you an art lover and appreciate talent. How exciting, especially since Philadelphia will be the only place in the United States to hold this exhibit. If you are visiting Philadelphia, you are in luck. ~ Van Gogh Exhibit ~
- Institute of Contemporary Art – Like contemporary art? Here is a place that has free admission. ~ Click Institute of Contemporary Art ~
- Classical Music – 2/12 – 2/14 – The first two days at the Kimmel Center and the 3rd day is at Temple Performing Arts Center. Anthony McGill performs the Mozart Clarinet Concerto on his clarinet. ~ click Mozart/Mackey at the Kimmel Center
- Ice Skating – through March 4th – A chance to enjoy a weekend with family and right now, some enjoyable weather while ice skating at the Blue Cross RiverRink at Penns Landing.
- Dinosaurs at the Franklin Institute – Through April 15th – Like dinosaurs? Come check out some newly discovered dinosaurs from the last two decades. Get to see some up close and personal. ~ Mysterious Dinosaurs ~
- Design Zone – through April 1st – The Design Zone is held at the Franklin Institute. As a kid, here is your chance not only to be very creative, to use your creative juices, but get to be an adult. You might get to build a skate park. Or a roller coaster. Or how about produce your own music at a recording studio. ~ Design Zone ~
Visiting Philadelphia

- Liberty Bell – Symbol of American Independence – If you are visiting Philadelphia, this is one site that must be seen. ~ Liberty Bell ~
- Betsy Ross House – Did Betsy Ross actually make the American Flag? Learn about some of Philadelphia’s earliest history. ~ Betsy Ross House ~
- Independence Hall – This is where the Declaration of Independence was adopted and where the Constitution of the United States was debated, drafted and signed. ~ Independence Hall ~
- National Constitution Center – If anything, you must see the ‘We the People’ exhibit. There are other timely exhibits. ~ National Constitution Center ~
Upcoming Events & Attractions in Philadelphia
- Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey – 2/22 – 2/27 – Love a great circus? What about the Greatest Show on the Earth®. This is surely a must see event coming to Philadelphia ~ Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey ~
- The Philadelphia Flower Show – 3/4 – 3/11 – If you haven’t been to Hawaii, Hawaii comes to you in Philadelphia. With 25 foot waterfalls, stunning flower and garden arrangements, and an opportunity to participate in a traditional Hawaiian luau, featuring hula dancing, music and chants. ~ Philadelphia Flower Show ~
