Fishtown’s Super Saturday: Your Family-Friendly Fall Festival Guide

Saturday, September 19, transforms Fishtown into Philadelphia’s ultimate playground for all ages, with multiple major outdoor festivals unfolding within walking distance of one another. Spanning Frankford Avenue and North Front Street, the neighborhood-wide celebration brings an afternoon of games, crafts, live music, and street sales suitable for strollers, kids, and pets alike.

Fishtown Oktoberfest Family Funfest

• Location: Frankford Avenue between Thompson and Master Streets
• Hours: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
• Admission: Free

Presented by the Fishtown District, this four-block street activation is designed for maximum family engagement. Kids can enjoy free face painting from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by interactive balloon artists from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The street will also feature a nine-hole open-air mini-golf course, pop-a-shot outdoor basketball, and giant lawn checkers. Alongside the games, local brick-and-mortar shops and independent makers will host sidewalk sales, pop-up racks, and craft booths.

Just around the corner, Evil Genius shuts down the 1700 block of North Front Street for a massive family-centered block party. The centerpiece is an expansive children’s play village hosted by Lulu’s Casita, featuring “Lulu’s on Wheels”—a converted school bus packed with stimulating play stations tailored for kids aged 0 to 5.

Additional family programming includes:

• Interactive Crafts: A dedicated activities and arts station managed by A Dash of Magic Events.
• Kid-Approved Food Truck: Pink’s Treats serving hot dogs, sausages, pizza pretzels, and Philadelphia water ice.
• Music: All-ages party tracks spun live by DJ Bob Beast.
• Artisan Market: Over a dozen local vendors selling goods, including hand-crocheted plushies from Kurious Stitches, children’s and vintage finds from Tiger Snake Vintage, small-batch soy candles from Queer Candle Co, organic drinks from Jrip Juicery, and treats from Nini B. Sweets.
