Night Market Philadelphia takes to the streets of Chinatown on Thursday, October 2, in the last event of its 2014 season just as it did in 2013.
This epic food fest by The Food Trust brings many special treats packed into 4 hours of fun. Experience local restaurants, Philly’s finest food trucks, live music, many kinds of performers and much more.
The Food & Drinks
Bring your patience, because the lines can get long. The good news is that there will be 60 plus food trucks besides the local restaurants to choose from. Everything from made-on-site pizza to Korean cheesesteaks, to such food truck favorites as: Taco Mondo Truck, Mac Mart Cart, Spot Gourmet Burgers, The Cow and The Curd, Say Cheese, The Tot Cart, Street Food Philly, and many more.
Those making the Night Market debut are: Sbraga Restaurant, Bao Boy, SeoulFull Philly, Indeblue, Sweet Lavender and more. And you certainly will need something to wash this great grub down with. Craft beer will be powered by Bloktoberfest.
Live Music & Entertainment
Enjoy live music on the main stage beneath the landmark Chinatown Friendship Gate located on Arch Street as well as additional performers along Vine Street.
You won’t want to miss the traditional Chinese lion dancing performed by the Philadelphia Suns lion dancers as well as kung fu demonstrations, shadow puppets, and more.
Close out the night dancing to the funky sounds of Johnny Showcase, followed by DJ Foxx Boogie on the ones and twos. It certainly will be a night to remember.
Transportation to Chinatown & Parking
Chinatown is easily accessible on foot from so many different locations. You can use public transit:
PATCO to 8th and Market
Market-Frankford subway line to 8th and Market or 11th and Market
Buse routes 23, 48 and 61
If you must drive, remember that Race Street will be closed between 9th and 11th streets, and 10th Street will be closed between Arch and Vine streets. There is limited parking available at Standard Parking (1100 Arch St.), PPA AutoPark at the Gallery Mall (35 N. 10th St.), E-Z Park (912 Arch St. and 211 N. 9th St.), Parkway (815 Arch St. and 901 Cherry St.) and Sonic Parking (1013 Arch St.).
