‘Helping those Build a Stronger Community for Themselves’

It’s the 31st year anniversary of  ACHIEVEability, a non-profit organization that started in 1981, which works to permanently break the cycle of poverty for many single parents.

ACHIEVEability is holding a gala fundraiser on March 23, which will be held at Urban Outfitters offices at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia. The theme for the event is “Food for Thought”.

From ACHIEVEability’s site in regards to what the organization is about :

ACHIEVEability, located in Philadelphia, permanently breaks the cycle of poverty for low-income, single parents and homeless families. ACHIEVEability provides housing and supportive services so parents can pursue higher education and become self-sufficient. Everything we do promotes accountability for our families.

 

This event will feature more than 30 outstanding chefs and restaurants including Michael Deganis of Alla Spina, Dana Herbert of Desserts by Dana, Mitch Prensky of Supper, Ben Puchowitz of Matyson, Chip Roman of Blackfish, Kevin Sbraga of Sbraga, Daniel Stern of R2L, Marcie Turney of Barbuzzo and Jamonera, Peter Woolsey of Bistrot La Minette, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, and many more.

In addition, the event will feature unique auction items, great music and entertainment.

ACHIEVEability in Philadelphia will be holding many events this year. “Food for Thought” is ACHIEVEability’s most important fundraiser of the year. This event will help raise funds to support its work to end poverty by helping single parents and low-income families to achieve self-sufficiency.
