Bainbridge Street Barrel House In Queen Village

Bainbridge Street Barrel House

‘Good Food, Craft Beers & Wide Selection of Bourbons’

Bainbridge St Barrel House, which opened November 5, 2012, is a spacious bar and restaurant located in Queen Village.

Owned by Elena Fetfatzes and Eric Paraskevas, their concept is to be a restaurant that not only serves very good comfort food, but to be established in the many different types of craft beers, with a wide selection of rare bourbons.

Eleni is a business savvy minded woman with an extensive background (30+ years) in the beer industry and Eric has and demonstrates his passion, culinary education & expertise (15+ years) in the kitchen. It’s no wonder that this partner duo is a match made in heaven.  Together, they showcase their love of all things quality; from the beers in barrels to the barrel aged cocktail program to the thoughtfully planned food menu.

Bainbridge Street Barrel House Atmosphere & Experience

When walking into the Barrel House, you have a choice between a revolving door or your regular kind of door. Once inside, the main bar is to your left, while you have tables and booths laid out throughout the restaurant section.

The inside itself is very clean looking with mahogany all throughout the establishment creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The bar seats twenty plus, while the restaurant seats eighty-six inside and up to an additional sixty outside when weather allows it.

For those beer enthusiasts, there are 25 total beers rotating at any given time, with one dedicated to a nitro line and another to a hand pump beer engine. You’ll also find 200 bottles of beer to select from. A main focus will always be on the craft beer, followed by an eclectic selection of bourbon and a food menu that parallels the liquids. You’ll also find carefully created barrel aged cocktails.

Pastrami wrap with chips

Pastrami Wrap With Chips

The Barrel House is known as a New American/Gastro Pub that concentrates on comfort food.

One of their more popular foods is their Sally Smothers burger, which is a Pat LaFrieda brisket blend, fried shallots, griddled egg, pancetta and mayo served on a seeded brioche bun. Other favorites are their nachos, the Camilla chicken sandwich, mac and cheese, calamari, wings and fried pickles.

One thing they have been doing is dry aging their meats, which is a method that increases the “meatyness” of the meat, which is done by allowing the meat to rest for any number of days, thereby enhancing flavor and tenderness.

I had the pleasure of trying their pastrami wrap with chips and their fried pickles, which were both very good and are shown in some of the photos below.

If you are looking for some excitement in your food and drinks, Bainbridge St Barrel House is the place to be.
