Get excited as Chestnut Hill transforms into Witches and Wizards October 18 and 19!

Formerly the Harry Potter Festival, the Witches and Wizards festival weekend takes over the charming Chestnut Hill neighborhood for spellbinding events that introduces a celebration of all things mystical and enchanted!

This tradition brings fun activities for the entire family throughout Chestnut Hill.

Friday, October 18

Friday night kicks-off with Brews and Broomsticks Pub Crawl from 7:30 pm to 10 pm. This updated Pub Crawl offers an evening of magical fun including spirited food and drink specials, two outdoor beer gardens, costumed actors, DJ Jamie Grimble and fortune tellers along Germantown Avenue, performances by circus aerialists and fire-breathers, a recreational archery range, a costume contest at Venetian social club and The Franklin Institute’s popular Science After Hours showcase. Saturday, October 19

The event on Saturday features familiar annual traditions such as the 10th Annual Brotherly Love Cup Quidditch Tournament and Woodmere Art Museum Straw Maze, while locals and visitors can also enjoy Creepy Crafts for kids at Hocus Pocus Headquarters, live circus performers, an archery range, Mad Science demonstrations, Harvest Hayrides, shopping, and more throughout the Chestnut Hill Business District.

Festival Events

Philadelphia Brotherly Love Cup Quidditch TournamentFREE to attend – 10 am to 4 pm at Chestnut Hill College (9601 Germantown Ave) Teams from visiting colleges and the local community team competing in round-robin style Quidditch matches. For details, click here.

Hocus Pocus Headquarters – Kids’ Craft Zone – Noon to 5 pm at the Blue Lot, 150 E. Evergreen Avenue. Cost $10 per child (recommended ages 3 – 10), parents free. Kids can enjoy crafting activities such as making your own spooky slime, creepy pumpkin making, potion making with a fortune teller and more. For tickets, click here.

Woodmere Art Museum Straw Maze – Noon to 5 pm at Woodmere Art Museum at 9201 Germantown Ave. $8 per child, parents free to those kids who have tickets. Kids can play, climb, and explore the Woodmere Art Museum Straw Maze. Made from massive straw bales, the maze features multiple levels, spirals, and surprises. NEW 2018, come see The Little Circus, featuring outdoor aerial performances, juggling, and tightrope walking, beginning at 2 pm. For more info, click here.

Jenks Academy of Witchcraft & Wizardry – 11 am to 5 pm at Jenks School for Arts & Sciences at 8301 Germantown Ave. Free to attend with various costs at the event. For more details, click here.
