Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas At The Merriam Theater!

Grinch Stole Who Stole Christmas

‘Don’t Let The Grinch Steal Your Christmas!’

A holiday favorite and a Broadway musical, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, is coming to the Merriam Theater in Philadelphia!

Remember the “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” song? You can bring back memories and or create new memories with your family with this wonderful musical from December 19 – 29!

“Talk about a family event. It’s so great to see the kids and their parents together really experiencing it,” says Frances Egler, The Kimmel Center’s Director of Programming and Broadway Philadelphia.

The Grinch is a bitter, grouchy, cave-dwelling creature with a heart “two sizes too small” who is living as a hermit on the snowy Mount Crumpit, a steep high mountain just north of the town of Whoville, home of the merry and warm-hearted Whos. His only companion is his unloved, but loyal dog, Max. The Grinch attempts to put an end to Christmas by stealing Christmas-themed items from the homes of the nearby town Whoville on Christmas Eve.

The Musical features the hit songs “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas” (written by Albert Hague and Dr. Seuss) from the original animated series.

The Grinch broke box office records for two consecutive years on Broadway during its holiday engagements at the St. James and Hilton theatres in New York. Since then, more than 1.2 million theatre-goers across America have been delighted by this heart-warming holiday musical, which The New York Times praised as “100 times better than any bedside story” and the Gannett papers hailed as “A genius of a show! A total delight for both kids and adults.”
