Gunners Run, which use to be Swift Half, is located at the Piazza at Schmidt’s in Northern Liberties. Love good infused drinks or a Bloody Mary bar, this is your spot.

Gunners Run Experience & Atmosphere

Gunners Run, with an unique story behind its name, opened one year ago from March and is a group effort of a few Philadelphia business owners, bringing a new style of food and drink to The Piazza.

When approaching Gunners Run from the courtyard side, you will see a large sitting area outside with many tables to choose from. A great spot, considering that you are close to the Piazza’s big screen tv to watch sporting events or movies.

Now you are inside. The atmosphere is comfortable with rock-n-roll music on. Looking around you will see many cool and interesting paintings which are by Mike Davis. You’ll also see an ‘L’ shaped bar which will sit 20 people comfortably. And don’t forget to check out the large map on the wall, which shows the Philadelphia street system in 1886, including key landmarks and pictures of important buildings from that time bordering the map.

The menu is contemporary American with an excellent vegan/vegetarian selection. Better known for pub fare such as the wild boar burger, hand cut fries, wings, cheesesteak nachos, and much more.

What’s interesting is that their meat comes from the only butcher in Philly and everything is made in-house. They are in the midst of changing their menu for the summer time.

Love a good craft beer? Gunners Run has 11 crafts on draft from around the region and the world. A local favorite on tap is Yards IPA. There are also 25 bottles of beer, 8 specialty cocktails, 10 different bourbons, 10 different scotches, a selection of wines, and 12 house-made infused spirits.

Are you a fan of Bloody Mary’s? On the weekends, the long communal table will become a make-your-own-Bloody Mary  bar, with dozens of ingredients. There are close to 2 dozen kinds of hot, mild, and secret sauces in addition to all the veggies you can fit in your glass.
