Holiday Season Kicks off this Weekend in Manayunk in Philadelphia

Manayunk in Philadelphia is hosting two events this weekend that you don’t want to miss! Get into the holiday spirt this weekend. Start the weekend off Friday at First Friday Holiday Edition and then come back on the following Saturday to welcome Santa to town.

First Friday Holiday Edition in Manayunk

Stroll, shop, dine and play on Main Street in Manayunk Friday, December 2nd while getting into the holiday spirit.  Every first Friday of each month along Main Street participating stores have flags hanging outside of their stores to welcome guests in.  Stores offer special events, art exhibits and refreshments. This week First Friday in Manayunk will be even more special with holiday sales and special events. Many bars participate in this exciting night in Manayunk including Kildares Irish Pub and Lucky’s Last Chance.  Visit the facebook page for more details.

Santa on Ice in Manayunk

Saturday the 10th, come out to the annual event that welcomes Santa to town, ‘Santa on Ice’ in Manyaunk at 10 am. This is a fascinating event great for all ages to watch a professional ice carver, Peter Slavin, who sculpts a throne for Santa.  Kids love to watch this marvioulous event in anticipation for Santa’s arrival. Listen to holiday music from B101 radio station who will be there live for the action. Once the throne made of ice is complete, Santa will be there for children to sit on his lap and take photos with him. Candy canes, chocolate and other treats will be handed out to participants who watch on as the ice carver sculpts.
