‘Live Free Musical Celebrations in the City of Brotherly Love’
Get ready for an all-out music blitz on June 21, 2019. Explore the many talents of local musicians throughout the City of Philadelphia. There will be over 100 performances from noon to 9 pm at 18 locations throughout the city.
This ‘do it yourself’ festival is free and will include organized concerts and informal performances by professionals and amateurs of all genres and ages. Just think, anywhere in the city can become a backdrop for live music.
Make Music Philly Experience & Atmosphere
Make Music Day is a global celebration that takes place on the summer solstice each year and for the 5th time, the “city of brotherly love” will join over 700 other cites across 120 countries world-wide to celebrate. Philly is one of 23 cities in the U.S. that is participating this year.
The World Music Day concept began in 1982 with Fetes de la Musique in France. It then came to the US as National Music Day in 2006 and as it stands, more than 460 cities in 110 countries have participated worldwide.
The one-day event involves many individuals, organizations, businesses, neighborhoods; making it a cross-cultural event!
