Manayunk On Ice Festival – Live Ice Sculpturing in Action

Manayunk on Ice Festival in Philadelphia

‘Turning Solid Blocks of Ice into Art’

Have you ever watched Master Ice Carvers sculpt blocks of ice by using chain saws and other tools. Watch them create impressive ice sculptures into art in front of your very own eyes.

Come to the Manayunk on Ice Festival on Main Street in Manayunk from February 8-10.  There will be live carvings daily and plenty of family fun.

The weekend kicks off with a huge ice bonfire on Friday night at 6 pm followed by Fear No Ice performing a theatrical ice carving show. Need to keep warm, there will be tasty treats and drinks while warming up to the bonfire. All of this will take place in the Venice Island parking lot off of Main Street which is right across from Carson Street.

On Saturday, February 9 from noon to 4 pm, come watch the Master Carver Exhibitions which will be spread out along the parking lots off of Main Street from Carson Street down to Pensdale Street. Watch the ice carvers create fine pieces of art out of ice throughout the day.

To end this wonderful festival on Sunday, February 10, from noon to 4 pm, watch ice carvers battle it out as they try to carve the best ice sculptures in just 30 minutes. You’ll get a chance to vote for your favorite ice sculpture. Voting can be done at the East River Bank table on the corner of Main Street and Cotton Avenue.

Make sure that you bundle up for any of these events and if feeling cold, you can always stop in the many fine shops and restaurants that will be open along Main Street.
