Molly Malloy's at the Reading Terminal Market

‘A Tribute to Mom = Molly Malloy’s’

Molly Malloy’s is a restaurant and bar that sits at one end at the Reading Terminal Market. This space once was occupied by the Beer Garden.

Molly Malloy’s Experience & Atmosphere

Opening in October of 2011, Molly Malloy’s was started by Vinnie and Jimmy Iovine. Part of their family has been a large supporter of the Reading Terminal Market since 1990, operating Ivoine Brother’s Produce.

The name of the restaurant/bar is a tribute to their mother (maiden name), who passed away 23 years ago, after raising 10 children to include Jimmy and Vinnie. Their mother was the rock of the family and it didn’t take much thought when naming their new establishment.

Molly Malloy’s lives up to its name with a menu full of Irish flair, serving such dishes like the Irish Beef Stew, Fish & Chips and Chicken Pot Pie. All items on the menu are homemade, and of course use the fresh produce from the Ivoine Brother’s Produce.

Seating 79 in total, the space is open and approachable with a giant 3-sided wooden bar that sits at one end, overlooking a good portion of the market. The rest is made up of high bar tables around the perimeter and lower tables taking up the rest of the floor. There are four flat-screen televisions that play sporting events to entertain customers. There isn’t a ton of natural light in this area of the market, but they’ve done a nice job on decor and lighting.

Chef Bobby Fisher has worked with the Iovine Brothers for a number of years. Bobby has created a brunch/breakfast menu that can be enjoyed 7 days a week. Some of the more popular daily food items are their ribeye cheese steak, the summer grilled cheese steak sandwich, and spring salads. There is an extensive menu with much to choose from, and the majority of their produce comes from local farms.

On the other side of the spectrum, they have excellent beers on tap, enough to find something for everyone. There are 24 beers on draft, with roughly 16 rotating local selection. They also have 24 bottled beers, five local wines sold by the glass, and specialty cocktails.

Overall, the latest addition of Molly Malloy’s brings some excitement to the Reading Terminal. It’s a good spot to sit down and relax after a long day working at the market or for those visiting the market.
