Mt. Airy Street Fare Festival

‘Sip, Savor, Stroll Street Food in Mt. Airy’

Lick them chops and get ready for a great food festival, the Mt. Airy Street Fare Festival, taking place September 17, from 6 pm to 10:30 pm.

Mt. Airy, which combines park-styled land, a historic cobble-stoned business corridor and tree lined streets, is only 20 minutes from Center City.

Come explore the many local restaurants along Germantown Avenue and enjoy top-notch gourmet bites, craft-brewed beer, wine and delicious cocktails from over 50 of the region’s best Philly food trucks and restaurants. Some participating are: Phoebes BBQ, Mac MartThe Cow and the Curd, Say Cheese, The Tot Cart, Foolish Waffles, Oink and Moo BBQMucho Bueno, Sum Pig Food Truck, The Flying Deutschman and many others. For a complete list, visit Food & Drink at Mt. Airy Street Fare Festival.

There will be more than just tasty food and treats while strolling along historic Germantown Avenue. There will be two stages that will be showcasing multiple acts all night long. Come rock it out and dance with such bands as: Lil’ Pookie and the Zydeco Sensations, Grammy nominated Sharon Katz & The Peace Train, Lisa Chavous and the Second Line, The GTV’s and the Gin Canaries.

Kids aren’t a problem at this festival. They can have fun just like us adults. There will be a family activity area set up outside of the Mt. Airy Presbyterian Church, on the corner of E. Mount Pleasant Ave. & Germantown Ave.  The kids can enjoy such activities as: custom temporary tattoos courtesy of Kadillac Tattoo, free-form art, hand sewing, and vendors.

Do you want to keep up with what’s happening during the festival. Follow @gomtairy on Twitter and follow the hashtag #StFareMtAiry. You can also go to their Facebook fan page for the latest updates at Go Mt. Airy.

The end result? Don’t worry about the many lines during the Mt. Airy Street Fare Festival, because there will be enough food for everyone. Just make sure to bring your appetite and then some. Bon Appétit!
