Newbold Blues Festival In South Philadelphia!

Newbold Blues Festival

‘Live Music, BBQ Food & Local Beer – Oh My!’

Strap on those dancing shoes and your foodie bibs!

The Newbold Blues Festival will take place on Saturday, June 15 from 1 pm to 5 pm in South Philadelphia, on West Passyunk Avenue between 15th & 16th Streets, just a two blocks from the Snyder Station on the Broad Street line.

The Newbold Community Development Corporation (CDC) is hosting the Newbold Blues Festival, a local music, food and craft beer festival, with an emphasis on blues, brews and BBQ. This free-to-attend event will feature live blues/rock/funk/soul music, BBQ from Newbold restaurants, craft beer from South Philly brewers, and local arts and antiques vendors.

Festivalegoers will enjoy a full-lineup of local bands to include Slo and Shakey Lyman, the Blues Pharoahs, Hannah Taylor and the Rekardo Lee Trio, Venom Blues the Brown Sugar Rolling Stones Tribute.

Bring your appetite, because the festival will feature BBQ-inspired food for purchase from Newbold restaurants such as Mike’s BBQ, Cafe Y Chocolate, The Thirsty Soul and Moon Dawg serving their fried sundaes.

Local breweries will also be getting in on the fun, with South Philadelphia’s own Brewery ARS, Dock Street Brewery, Point Breeze Brewing, Second District Brewing, Separasit Beer Project and Ploughman Farm Cider.

Beer tickets will be sold at the event or prior to the event at very discounted prices. Beer ticket sales will be strictly regulated and available for those 21+ only, but the festival is family-friendly.

Funds raised from this event will be used to support Newbold CDC’s Neighborhood Greening Program.

So come one, come all and enjoy this neighborhood friendly festival!
