‘The Best Films from Around the World’
Who loves a good film. Love sneak previews? There are films that get the attention because of their production budgets, but how many great films are missed or not heard of because of their lack of funding, which limits their exposure.
Welcome to the 25th Annual Philadelphia Film Festival from October 20 to 30, Philadelphia’s largest film festival, which unites talented filmmakers and dedicated film lovers for eleven days of world-class cinema.
The festival is well-known for its curation of innovative and award-winning films – four out of the last five Academy Awards “Best Picture” winners made their debut at the Philadelphia Film Festival.
Philadelphia Film Festival Experience & Atmosphere
This Festival is packed with many different events throughout the 11 day period. Its goal is to engage and educate the diverse communities throughout the region regarding films in general. The aim is to create experiences that deeply enrich the understanding and enjoyment of film. This Film Festival is very important because many important independent films do not receive sufficient attention or recognition.
The 11-day festival features over one-hundred films from around the world, with categories that include American Independents, Documentary, Graveyard Shift (late-night, genre films), Greater Filmadelphia (local films), Sight & Soundtrack (music-related films), Sports in Motion (sport-related films), and World Narratives (foreign films).
There are screenings of some of the most talked about films from Sundance, Berlin, Cannes, and Toronto Film Festivals, some of which may never play again and some that could be the next Oscar winner. You could even discover an emerging filmmaker.
The Philadelphia Film Festival brings to you the chance to get view some sneak previews to certain films, engage with others in the film industry, and more. Depending on the packages that you choose, you can also participate in the opening night party and or the closing night party.
