Reasons to Love Northern Liberties…

Here in Northern Liberties, a neighborhood that is North of Old City and has a rich industrial past, anything goes! This creative hub is home to many entrepreneurs and artists, with small local businesses that line the streets, eclectic cafes, galleries, fitness studios, and even a bowling alley, North Bowl Lanes. Here are just a few reasons why we love this neighborhood!

Liberty Lands Park. This neighborhood-managed oasis is proof that the driven and involved residents of “No Libs” care about green spaces. All year long, the park is full with picnics, parties,  dog walkers, and festivals, with yoga or music on the stage, and you can always spot members of the community tending to the trees and garden. There are frequent cleanups.

The Piazza and Liberties Walk. Looking for something to do? The bars, restaurants, and shops of Liberties Walk and the adjacent Piazza, an open-air plaza with free events year round, provide entertainment for the neighborhood. There is always something new and something for everyone. Farmers markets pop up in the summer, and concerts take over the stage. Sports games can be viewed on the giant LED TV screen.

The people. As we mentioned above, this is an active and close-knit community with a neighborhood association that aims to connect both the old with the new. From food donation drives to Town Watch meetings to neighborhood cleanups, being a part of future development in Northern Liberties to those who live here.

The architecture. Walking around No Libs, you’ll notice fun accents like custom bike racks commissioned from local artists, lots of new modern construction thrown in with older industrial buildings and townhomes, and street art pasted on poles.  This is a neighborhood that is all about the details, and the homes here include some of the most exciting projects in the city.
