‘Healing Through The Arts’

.

Sound check! You are in for a special treat as some talented musicians gather for a special musical festival for a great cause on Sunday, June 26th at Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel and Casino!

Welcome the Sound Mind Network Musical Festival, “Healing Through The Arts!”

The Bacon Brothers, Kevin and Michael Bacon, will be the music festival’s headliners! There will be other musical talents such as Tony Luke Jr, the Nashville girl group ElectraQueens (formerly The Highway Women), Johnny Showcase, and others.

The mission of the Sound Mind Network is to inspire those struggling with addiction, mental health and trauma to use their personal passions as a creative-based recovery alternative.

The Story

Tony Luke Jr lost his son Anthony Lucidonio III (age 35) when he died in March 2017 from a heroin overdose. I have known Tony for 10 years, who wears many hats. Two of his greatest passions are food and music. After his son died, Tony was devastated. He launched an initiative designed to fight the stigma surrounding opioid and heroin addictions.

Speaking to Tony:

“The average person doesn’t realize the pain that many suffer, who resort to these drugs in order to help them get through the pain. These individual’s just want to get rid of the pain, no matter if it’s linked to addiction and or mental health. They are afraid to talk to others about their struggles.”

After speaking with my friend Joe Nicolo (music producer), I sat in my studio and I wanted to find ways to help others with these struggles, to self-medicate through creative ways such as poetry, written songs, art, music and much more. While thinking, the music flowed from my heart and soul, to my hand, and then to my keyboard. The bottom line is that we need get rid of the stigma that surrounds overdoses and mental health.”

Tony started a movement, hashtag, #BrownAndWhite.

The Music Festival’s Atmosphere and Experience

You’ll get to experience the true passion that these musicians have for a special cause.

Music therapy is an evidence-based treatment that helps with a variety of disorders including depression, substance abuse and trauma. It can help with memory, improve coping, reduce stress, improve self-esteem and more. You don’t need a background in music to participate.

Music is the ultimate healing force, a universal language that conveys emotion across all identity barriers. Original music and high-profile concerts, involving multiple Grammy winners and globally-known artists gives us a venue to share our message and engage donors.

How Can You Help!

Proceeds from the concert, donations and sales from their store will be used to fund creative-based treatment programs designed to help those struggling with addiction, trauma and mental health by providing those in need with music therapy services. ~ Donate / Invest ~
