‘Ancient Sport of Dragon Boat Racing Comes to Modern World at Penn’s Landing Marina’

The Southeast Asian Dragon Boat Festival brings together tradition and fun among both competitors and spectators. The event is part of the PECO Multicultural Series and takes place on August 2 at Penn’s Landing Marina from noon to 7 pm.

Southeast Asian Dragon Boat Festival Experience & Atmosphere 

The Southeast Asian Dragon Boat Festival celebrates both the Water Festival holiday and commemorates the use of these boats for maritime and naval activities. 

Besides boat races throughout the day, experience a classical dance at the River Stage, Neary Chea Chor, which describes the beauty of Khmer (Cambodian) women and their elegant costumes. There will be contemporary and non-traditional performances as well that guests are encouraged to participate. Such performances to include Azi Fellas, Jasper Som, Sai Lua Far, and more.

The festival also will include authentic cuisine from KBHA Cambodian Temple, Sam’s Cambodian Kabobs, Cousin Sunny’s and many more.
