Special Olympics Pennsylvania To Host Philadelphia Polar Plunge

PHILADELPHIA – Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) is thrilled to announce the 2024 Philadelphia Polar Plunge presented by Wawa, a much-anticipated event set to be held at the iconic Citizens Bank Park. Spanning two exhilarating days, on February 9 and 10, the Plunge will create an unforgettable experience for over 1,000 participants who are ready to brave the frigid waters for a worthy cause.

Kicking off the festivities on February 9, the Cool Schools Plunge will take center stage as an exhilarating fundraising competition involving high schools from all around the vibrant Philadelphia region. The students will relish a delightful lunch provided by the generous support of The Wawa Foundation. In the afternoon, the Business Plunge promises to offer unparalleled networking opportunities with esteemed business executives, revered community leaders, and influential city officials. Attendees will be inspired by a captivating keynote address and will have the chance to meet renowned former Phillies player Ruben Amaro, Jr. as well as SOPA athlete Roxanne Negron.

Continuing the excitement on February 10, the public Plunge will captivate the crowd. Both plungers and onlookers can delight in the vibrant atmosphere and engaging activities at Plunge Town before the exhilarating plunge into the icy waters commences precisely at noon.
