‘Special Artisan Grilled Cheese Sandwiches Made To Your Delight’

Remember growing up and mom always made you that grilled cheese sandwich that was just enough to fill your tummy.

Well, MeltKraft has taken Grilled Cheese Sandwiches to the next level. Opening in the middle of January 2013, they have become a popular spot in the Reading Terminal Market early on.

The MeltKraft Experience & Atmosphere

The Melt Kraft, by Valley Shepherd Creamery at the Reading Terminal Market, offers a wide selection of tasty grilled cheese sandwiches with special cheeses. They currently have seven different types of grilled cheese sandwiches and one non-grilled cheese.

MeltKraft is part of Valley Shepherd Creamery in which they make over 40 different types of traditional cheeses out of their Long Valley, New Jersey farm. This allows Chef Rebecca Foxman to be creative in her crazy concoctions when trying new combinations of grilled cheese sandwiches.

What adds to this comfort food, besides the many different flavors of cheeses, are the different types of breads used. For the most part, they use white pullman bread for the majority of their sandwiches. Their Brielle grilled cheese uses a brioche bread. And when making their fresh mozzarella on a baguette, they use Aversa’s Bread or bread from Metropolitan Bakery right here in the Reading Terminal Market.

Sounds yummy, doesn’t it. I tried the Avenue D’ Classic, which has Valley Shepherd’s ‘Tewksbury’, ‘Valley Thunder’ and ‘Melter Skelter’ cheeses. I even added bacon to mine, which can be seen in the picture above or below.

At MeltKraft in the Reading Terminal Market, it’s all about the different flavors of cheeses in which you can add many different kinds of toppings or extras. Such extras as duck fat, bacon, fat, chicken, bacon, tomato, truffle oil or even put it on garlic rubbed bread. Who just became hungry while reading this?
