The Cambridge in Rittenhouse Square

The Cambridge on South in Rittenhouse Square

‘A Wonderful Neighborhood Pub/Restaurant’

The Cambridge, formerly known as the Tritone, opened in August 1, 2012 by owners Chris Fetfatzes and Heather Annechiarico, who own Hawthornes Cafe in Bella Vista. The bar/restaurant sits on the South Street West side on South Street, an area that is up and coming over the years.

The Cambridge Experience & Atmosphere

The Cambridge is a rustic chic establishment that has been a pleasant addition to the current neighborhood. When walking in, the bar is to your right and seating for their restaurant is on your left. The bar seats 30 while the restaurant side seats an additional 32 people. For nicer days, there is a patio out back that seats 26 people.

Asking Chris Fetfatzes if there was a meaning behind the name Cambridge, this is what he had to say:

The name for us evokes a feeling or strength, simplicity and class. Cambridge is a neighborhood bar that’s proper but certainly far from being stuffy.

The Cambridge has an extensive beer list of 24 beers on tap that rotates, all of which are craft beers and half of them are local. They have 20 bottled beers, a small selection of 11 types of wines and a nice selection of single malt scotches and bourbons.

The food is classified as New American. You’ll find a nice selection of appetizers such as muscles, buffalo wings, layered nachos, mac and cheese and more. For you french fry lovers, they have superb hand cut fries.

Looking for a casual meal, you’ll find some tasty burgers and sandwiches. How about something a little more filling? Try their salmon, roasted chicken or grilled steak.

One of the compliments that The Cambridge receives is in regards to their brunch menu. It’s a completely different take on brunch. Instead of the usual pancakes, french toast, eggs, eggs, and more eggs, the focus is more on dishes that’ll introduce you to some new and delicious things. How about the Challah French Toast. You’ll get three thick slices of Challah, which is a special Jewish braided bread, with bacon pecan maple syrup and fresh berries. Other items that could catch your fancy would be their Taylor Pork Roll and Chorizo egg sandwich, baked duck egg and much more.

At the Cambridge, you will find a courteous wait staff, bartenders, helpful managers and a fun atmosphere to bring a group of friends to enjoy a day or night.
