Who gets excited about fashion! Here is your chance to mingle with some of the best and brightest in the industry. This unique event by FGI Philadelphia is a reception and speed networking event for Fashion, Beauty and Home Design Professionals taking place on August 12, 2021!
FGI is a global, non-profit, professional organization with 5,000 members in the fashion, beauty, and home design industries.
It all began in 1928 when 17 women, invited by Edna Woolman Chase, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, met for lunch in a modest midtown New York City restaurant. They shared three things: each held a job in the business of fashion; each held all others in high regard; and each believed fashion needed a forum to express and enhance a widening awareness of the American fashion business and women’s roles in that business. Thus, in 1930, The Fashion Group International was born.
Some of the founding and charter members included such notables as Elizabeth Arden, Eleanor Roosevelt, Helena Rubinstein, and Edith Head. Many decades later, the names have changed, but the energy, talent, and commitment to the fashion industry, remains the same.
The Experience and Atmosphere of the FGI Philly Fashion Event
The FGI Philly event will be held at the Cambria Hotel and Suites on Broad Street, which is part of the Choice Hotels Group.
AGENDA
- 6:00-6:30 pm: Check-in and mingle
- 6:30-7:15 pm: Complimentary appetizers are served
- 7:15-8:00 pm: Speed Networking Event moderated by FGI Philly Regional Director, Mindy Solkin
- 8:00-8:30 pm: Additional networking at your leisure
*Cash Bar Specials: Domestic beers, House wines, Specialty cocktail
* Details and best practices of the speed networking event will be sent the week of event
*Masks are optional
- Meet with friends and colleagues you haven’t seen in over a year
- Dress fashionably from head-to-toe (instead of pajama bottoms and a pretty top on those Zoom calls!)
