Ever lost anyone to breast cancer? Just hate any kind of cancer? Here is your chance to help fight breast cancer, trying to find a cure, ending breast cancer forever by joining forces with thousands of others participating in the Susan G. Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure®

From the Philadelphia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure :

When you Race for the Cure in Philadelphia, you empower us, here at home, to lead the breast cancer movement. Since the first race was held in Philadelphia 22 years ago, we’ve:

• Distributed over $49 million in grants to local organizations,
• Funded approximately 120,000 mammograms for women in need in our service area,
• Contributed approximately $19 million to breast cancer research,
• Improve treatment and care,
• Invest the most resources toward finding a cure, and
• Involve millions in our mission.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest breast cancer organization. At the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate, they pledge to be sisters to all the people they serve by :

• Educating and innovating, so all may find power from their experience.
• Protecting with dedication to improve treatment and energize science to find the cures.
• Giving special care to those less fortunate, helping to ensure equality of care for all.
• Supporting others as a beacon of light along each breast cancer journey.
• Saving lives today and investing in a future of health and empowerment.
• Stopping at nothing and leaving no one behind until everyone shares not just the vision- but the reality of life without breast cancer.

You could become a volunteer, fundraiser or support fundraisers, become a sponsor, or join the Race for the Cure. The Race takes place on Mother’s Day, May 11th. You can either run or walk. They even have a brand-new Kids Dash in the morning.

You can register as an individual or as a team. For more info, click Susan G. Komen registration. Last chance for registration is on the day of the race, May 11, from 6 am to 11 am. Once you register, you want to start your fundraising. Once you sign up as a participant in the Race, you will be given a link with your own personal page. You can certainly personalize this page. But your personal page is where you can ask friends, family, and co-workers to either join your team or sponsor you by making a donation.
