It just keeps getting better and better. With awesome events last weekend such as the Philadelphia International Cycling Championship, Fairmount Restaurant Week, the start of Philly Beer Week; could one think it would get better?

With so many things to do in Philadelphia, you will want to keep your eye on many different events this weekend. Such exciting events Fete’s Day at Elfreth’s Alley, Eastern State Penitentiary’s Prison Break, free concerts throughout the city and much more.

Don’t forget that Philly Beer Week ends this weekend with many events taking place between today and ending on Sunday evening. And with the nice weekend weather, it could be a good time to spend some family time at the many Philadelphia Parks. Such as Franklin Square, which is a great place for a family picnic, playing miniature golf, riding the merry-go-round, and more.   • Art for the Cash Poor 13 ~ June 8 to 10 ~ A fabulous annual block party-style art sale in Northern Liberties that allows art lovers the chance to meet the artists, see their work first-hand, and buying art work that won’t break the bank.   • Art After 5 ~ June 8 ~ Saxophonist Bobby Zankel ~ Bobby gets an orchestral sound out of his ensembles, partly by mixing instruments, partly by moving them through composition into improvisation. Held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the Great Stair Hall, starting at 5 pm. ~ Art After 5 ~
  • Kimmel Center ~ June 8 & 9 ~ Free show, “Live from the Plaza Stage”. Join the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra, tonight at 6 pm, for the 3rd concert in its iConduct! Tomorrow at 11 am, ‘Grow Up Great’ celebrates the ‘King of Instruments’ with a special program as part of the Kimmel Center’s Organ Day! Don’t miss ‘Rex: The King of Instruments’.   • Fete Day at Elfreth’s Alley ~ June 9 ~ Come meet Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross, & others during this fun block party that will feature private tours of homes that are only opened once a year to the public. There will also be colonial crafts, artists, games, historic interpreters, a fife and drum corps, and refreshments. ~ Fete Day ~

  • Barnes Foundation ~ Now Open ~  The new building finally opened May 19th.   • Bruce Springsteen ~ Feb. 17 – Sept. 3 ~ Springsteen comes to the National Constitution Center. The first exhibit of Bruce Springsteen to ever be seen outside the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.   • Elfreth’s Alley ~ Get to walk down a street with 300 years of history. Elfreth’s Alley is one of the oldest continuously inhabited residential streets in America. ~ Elfreth’s Alley ~
  • Philadelphia City Hall ~ Like Architecture? Philadelphia History? They give tours of the Philadelphia City Hall. If you go up high enough, you get to see the whole city. ~ Philadelphia City Hall~
  • Philadelphia Museum of Art – So many things that surround this museum. The “Rocky” Steps or the “Rocky” statue. A great view down Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Behind the museum, you can view Boat House Row and a few other things. ~ Philadelphia Museum of Art~
  • Betsy Ross House – Did Betsy Ross actually make the American Flag? Learn about some of Philadelphia’s earliest history. ~ Betsy Ross House~
