‘Getting Into the Holiday Spirit at the Christmas Village in LOVE Park’

Love Park in Philadelphia has a lot of history and will be hosting the Christmas Village again this year. Still working on your holiday shopping, this is the place to check out, with over 60 vendors in wooden booths offering you a great experience of shopping in Philadelphia.

You’ll be able to get a sneak peak on November 21 and 22. The Village officially opens on November 26 and will continue until December 27. The opening ceremony will be on November 28 at 3 pm.

The Christmas Village is modeled after the traditional Christmas Markets in Germany. Selling anything from ornaments, high-quality arts and crafts, international gifts, jewelry, and much more. You’ll also be overwhelmed by the aroma of traditional European foods, sweets, and drinks.

The Holiday Experience at the Christmas Village in Love Park

You are sure to get into the holiday spirit because of the unique atmosphere with thousands of lights, the big Holiday Tree, the delicious smell of gingerbread and bratwurst. You can also try some of the traditional German cakes and spicy cookies, while washing the food down with German beers, hot cider, hot chocolate or some hot German Gluhwien (mulled wine).

On top of the great shopping and dining experiences, visitors will enjoy the glorious Christmas Tree in LOVE Park, a Wish Wall in conjunction with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, theme days and weekends, tasting tours with Chaddsford Winery, live music during evenings and weekends, and other surprises to be announced.

It’s free admission to enter the Christmas Village. All we’ll need is a little snow to add to that Christmas spirit. So bring the family and don’t miss this special month long of events.

Saturday, November 28 – 3 pm – 4:15 pm – Grand Opening Ceremony with the original “Christkind” from Germany! – Get Details Here
Saturday & Sunday, December 5 & 6 – German American Weekend: Celebrate some German heritage at the Christmas Village & enjoy traditional German dancing and singing on stage. You’ll also be able to enjoy typical food and drinks from Germany, such as delicious Bratwurst, hot Gluhwein, mouth-watering Lebkuchen & so much more!
Saturday & Sunday, December 12 & 13 – Charity Weekend – All of your monetary donations will be donated 100% to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Philadelphia and Susquehanna Valley! In addition, when you purchase a heart at the information booth, $1 goes to Make-A-Wish.
Saturday & Sunday, December 19 & 20 – LOVE Weekend – Bring your loved ones out to this event to express how much you care about them. There will be an Instagram contest for the best “love-themed” picture, and the winner will get a special prize. So before you come, think of a picture you can take in front of the love sign to showcase your affection – a kiss, a hug. Be creative!
Fridays – Every Friday around noon there will be FREE live entertainment on stage to pair with your delicious Bratwurst.
