Con Murphy’s Irish Pub – Irish Bars in Philadelphia

‘A Cozy Irish Pub’

Con Murphy’s is an Irish Pub in Philadelphia that opened in October 2009 by founders Maurice Collins and Liam Kelly. The pub is located on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, just a stones throw from some of the best museums in Philadelphia.

Con Murphy’s Atmosphere & Experience

Don’t let the outside of Con Murphy’s fool you, just because it is attached to a hotel. The pub has created a cozy atmosphere both downstairs and upstairs, giving it somewhat an authentic Irish Pub feel. The downstairs bar is quaint with mahogany wood all throughout the upstairs and downstairs.

Con Murphy's - Irish Bars in PhiladelphiaCon Murphy’s has been known to pour one of the best pints of Guinness’s in Philadelphia. What a better place then to do an Irish Car Bomb. The pub has 9 draught beers, 25 bottled beers, 10 white and red wines, and a nice selection of 25 scotches and whiskeys.

Feeling hungry? You can basically grab something to eat at this Irish Pub morning, day or evening, considering that they serve breakfast and that you can have pub food up until midnight or 1 am. Their menu consists of anything from the traditional Shepherds Pie (made with Lamb), Guinness Beef Stew, Fish’n’Chips, to NY Strip Steaks or Ribs, or sandwiches such as Con’s Reuben.

Con Murphy’s also serves an authentic Irish Breakfast that consists of  two eggs any style, bangers, rashers (Irish Bacon), black and white pudding, potatoes, grilled tomato and baked beans. They also have an appealing menu for those that are vegetarians.

Con Murphy’s has that Irish feel to it and are steps away from Logan Square. Are you a people person or like a nice sunset with some of Philly’s best museums in the background? You can spend time out on the pubs patio and take in some of these sites. The pubs warmth and the hospitality and friendliness of the staff, makes Con Murphy’s a home away from home.
