Macy’s Holiday Light Show in Philadelphia

Macys Light Show in Philadelphia

‘A Holiday Tradition of Magical Lights at Macy’s’

Macy’s Holiday light show is something that everyone should experience at least once.  The light show has become a Philadelphia Holiday tradition since 1956 and a great family tradition for many over the years.

Macy's Light Show in PhiladelphiaThe Macy’s light show is best viewed from the ground floor of the grand court. If you have small children, you might want to get there early so you can grab some spots on floor.

This holiday treat, titled “Christmas Pageant of Lights,” features narration by Julie Andrews and the spectacular sounds of the famous Wanamaker Organ. The Light Show takes you on a journey through popular Christmas stories including The Nutcracker, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph and his friends, and a magical Christmas Tree along with familiar holiday songs and tunes.

During the light show, one will experience more than 100,000 bright, energy-efficient LED lights which combine to create fantastic holiday images. Don’t forget to look for the Macy’s pipe organ near the bottom of the show, the largest operational pipe organ in the world, with some 28,000 pipes.
