The Irish Times – Irish Bars in Philadelphia

“Your Irish Cheers’ Bar”

The Irish Times is not a newspaper, but one of many Irish Bars in Philadelphia which opened in 2007 and is located in the Queen Village section of Philadelphia. Think of The Irish Times as your Irish neighborhood Cheers.

The Irish Times Experience & Atmosphere

The Irish Times was built in 1916 and was originally two houses, side-by-side. At one time, it was converted into one of Philadelphia’s very first Night Club’s. The Times is Irish owned and operated.

The Down Below Bar is at least 50 feet underground. The bar top was custom made and is shaped like a “tree trunk”. The Loft Bar is on the 2nd level and is very cozy, which helps you feel right at home. The exposed brick behind the bar gives it character.

Do you love Irish food? You have come to the right place. The Irish Times has a weekend brunch that makes you feel like you are back in Ireland. Some of the selections are Irish sausage, rashers, black pudding, white pudding, beans, home made potato pancake, and much more.

Might stop by for lunch or dinner? There is a selection of 9 sandwiches and 3 different kinds of burgers to choose from. You will definitely be surprised of their well-rounded dinner menu, to include 6 traditional Irish dishes such as the cottage pie, the fish and chips, Guinness Irish Stew and much more.

Draft beers consist of Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks, Yuengling, Blue Moon, Heineken, Sam Seasonal, and a rotating tap. And there are at least 40 different bottles of beer from all over the world.

The Irish Times is one of those Irish bars in Philadelphia that gives you that quaint friendly feeling of home. It’s also been voted one of the Best Pints of Guinness in the city. So when stopping in, ask for the “Perfect Pint of Guinness.”
