Connecting Young People To National Parks With Doreen Taylor and the NPCA

National Parks and Doreen Taylo

‘Saving Our National Parks!’

We seem to take many things for granted, and in my opinion, one of them is our National Parks.

As we approach the centennial of our national parks in 2016, it’s been said that fewer younger people have visited these parks over the years. The National Parks Conservation Association, the NPCA, has prioritized in connecting younger people and more diverse audiences to our national parks.

The NPCA has enlisted the services of country-rock songstress Doreen Taylor to help connect new audiences to America’s national parks. On July 16, Taylor will join the NPCA and the local chapters of the Boys and Girls Clubs of American at Independence National Historical Park for a special event.

Taylor released a song benefiting the organization back in April and on April 22, 2014 at Milk Boy, Taylor sang that song for us Philadelphians. We had the pleasure of attending and Doreen Taylor certainly has an amazing voice, a soft heart and is enthusiastic in helping the national parks to grow within the ranks of the youth. Please come on out this Wednesday, July 16 at 1 pm as Taylor helps spread an important message and will be named an NPCA Ambassador to national parks.
