Flag Day June 14th

‘Honoring the Symbol of Our Country!’

Flag Day is a special day that takes place on June 14, which commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened on that day in 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. The Second Continental Congress originated in Philadelphia and had it’s original meeting place at Independence Hall.

Flag Day is not an official holiday, but in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day and in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.
