‘Eagles – Cowboys Game Could Be The Biggest of Carson Wentz’s Career!’

Big Game! The Philadelphia Eagles will be playing the Dallas Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field December 22 at 4:25 pm!

Carson Wentz is healthy for a winner take all game!

For the first time in Carson Wentz’s career, the athletic quarterback is healthy for a “winner-take-all” game! No pressure for Wentz, who has had season-ending injuries in December the past two years. Wentz, who has never played in a postseason game for the Eagles, who was the leading MVP candidate the year the Eagles won their first Super Bow, will get his chance to possible change minds! But isn’t football a team sport? Try telling that to some Eagles’ fans!

The Eagles could win the NFC East

Prior to the 2019 – 20 season, the Philadelphia Eagles looked prime to compete for the NFC East! As weeks went on, so did key injuries and in many cases, the lack of players performances, primarily the wide receivers who were dropping balls.

Thanks to the Dallas Cowboys and their season performance, the Eagles have a simple path in winning their division and go into the play offs with home field in the Wild Card game. The Eagles must win their last two remaining games! Anything short of that, and Dallas wins the Division thanks to the second tie breaker, which is the best conference winning percentage.

Long history between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys

The Eagles and Cowboys rivalry is one of the most hated in all of sports! They first met on September 25, 1960 when the Eagles won 27 – 25. Sunday will be their 121st meeting between the two (including playoffs), were the Cowboys lead 69 – 52. The teams have met in the playoffs four times, with the Cowboys holding a 3–1 advantage.

Carson Wentz might actually play in the postseason for the first time and show his worth

Two years ago, Wentz went out of the Rams – Eagles game December 10 with a bad knee, which forced backup QB Nick Foles to replace him after Wentz was having a MVP season! What happened then, Foles let the Eagles to their first-ever Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl 52.

Last year, Wentz left with a back injury on Dec. 12, 2018, and never returned. Foles stepped in again and took the Eagles into the playoffs.

Even though Foles didn’t take the Eagles to the Super Bowl last year, and who is no longer with the Birds, this is Wentz’s time to shine! The Eagles management has stated that Wentz is in their long term plans, even though many fans could argue that they would like to see Wentz traded. With all of the injuries and dropped balls this year, Wentz for the most part, has been the most consistent player.

When asking Wentz his thoughts, he stated:

“I’m excited about it. “The last couple of years didn’t end the way I wanted them to, personally, obviously being hurt and everything, so I’m just excited to be playing here in December with what’s at stake and to be out there with my guys. I’m excited.”

Too many previous excuses comparing Wentz and Foles

Fans have been comparing the two quarterbacks the last two years, and even still debating about them in the 2019 season. This author has been behind Wentz since he arrived here in Philadelphia. Yes, how could one dislike Nick Foles, who brought the City of Brotherly Love their first Super Bowl win, which came over the hated New England Patriots! But I always look at the pros and cons of both players, and not with my emotional goggles on. And I will stand by it and say I would rather have Carson Wentz than Nick Foles. If you would like to debate this in person, pick a bar and I’ll meet you there, even possibly buying you your first beer.

My Prediction:

Philadelphia Eagles 28Dallas Cowboys 27!
