‘Carson Wentz’s First Ever Play Off Game!’
The Philadelphia Eagles not only won the NFC East Division, but have home field for the NFC Wild Card game against the Seattle Seahawks on January 3, 2020! Excitement is back in Philadelphia and Carson Wentz’s first play off game!
The Eagles have been beat up most of the season, especially their wide receivers! But after 3 to 4 weeks of practice and 3 games with Carson Wentz and his practice squad receivers, things have been clicking much better, especially with Greg Ward! Even dropped balls have been a non-issue!
Here’s one stat to ponder: the Eagles are 2-0 at home in the playoffs under Pederson while the Seahawks are 2-5 on the road in the playoffs.
Home field advantage will certainly help this Eagles team. And the fact that Carson Wentz has been playing at a high level. Throwing the ball in the pocket, on the run and even running the ball in some cases.
It won’t be easy though, especially on how Russell Wilson can end a game. Wilson has 21 fourth quarter comebacks and 28 game winning drives, to go along with his 4 postseason fourth quarter comebacks and game winning drives, all since 2012! So it will be up to Swartz and his defense to play tight coverage, especially in the fourth quarter!
We believe that Wentz will shine, with the help of Sanders, Scott and Howard in the backfield. Boston Scott has definitely been one of the biggest surprises, with flashes of Darren Sproles.
Overall, we think it will come down to the Eagles defense. They certainly have the run defense. But does that make the Seahawks go pass happy and beat up the Eagles secondary? It will come down to Swartz, the Eagles defensive coordinator, calling the right plays at the right time and for the secondary not to give up many long balls!
