‘Summertime Fun At The Pop-Up Park On The Parkway’
Eakins Oval, the public space across from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, is transformed into a summer oasis from July 15 to August 21, 2016.
The Oval, presented by PNC, is a partnership of the Fairmount Park Conservancy and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.
The Oval – Corn Hole Game
The 2016 Summer Season is highlighted by “Rhythm & Hues,” a colorful mural that is meant to signify musical rhythm and music, which is an installation created by artist Brad Carney. The artists’ installation was a collaboration with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program.
The seasonal park will have games for kids, face painting, live music, a beer garden, food trucks, movie nights, fitness classes, a Warby Parker pop-up shop and much more.
Visitors can enjoy movie night every Friday night starting at 8 pm with the beautiful Philadelphia Museum of Art in the background.

2016 Beer Garden at The Oval:
The Oval’s beer garden will be open Wednesday to Sunday (times listed below).
Visitors will be able to enjoy beer and wine, and a selection of food from Philly Food Trucks. Schedule of Philly Food Trucks, click here. Enjoy food from such trucks as Phoebes BBQ, The Cow and the Curd, The Tot Cart, Taco Mondo, Oink and Moo, and many more.
The Oval Beer Garden At Night
The landscape of the beer garden was designed by architect Brian Dragon. Colorful and illuminated furnishings have been installed in the shady grove. You’ll will be surrounded by light and color, illuminated by over 100 repurposed containers. Liquid storage cubes (Intermediate Bulk Containers or “IBCs”) and rain barrels have been outfitted with light to complement the colors of the dynamic mural, and placed to create rooms, features, tables and chairs. Many of the lights will be “smart,” and guests will experience changing color, effects, and moods throughout the day and evening.
