Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival ~ October 5 ~ Free – 8 am – 5:30 pm. Held near the Gillin Boathouse at 2200 Kelly Drive. This annual celebration of ancient Chinese dragon boat racing brings dozens of colorful boats, bedecked with dragon heads and tails, that compete against each other in several heats throughout the day. The action takes place on the stretch of river out front of the Saint Joseph’s University’s boat house on Kelly Drive. ~ Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival ~

Revolutionary Germantown Festival ~ October 5 ~ 10 am – 4 pm & Oktoberfest 4 pm – 8 pm. Held at Cliveden at 6401 Germantown Avenue. This Germantown festival comes to life with costumed characters, live music, food and drink, and a reenactment of the Battle of Germantown. Guests can head down Germantown Avenue after the “battle” for an Oktoberfest celebration at the historic Grumblethorpe house featuring reenactors from the battle, food, beer, live music and more.  ~ Revolutionary Germantown Festival ~

Ambler Main Street Oktoberfest ~ October 5 ~ From 11 am to 6 pm, Downtown Ambler turns into a traditional Bavarian festival with its 28th annual Oktoberbest featuring a beer garden, great food with over 90 vendors and 10 food trucks, live musical performances on 2 stages all day, art work, hand-crafted items and rides for the kids.  ~ Ambler Main Street Oktoberfest ~
