Enjoy many kinds of Irish foods and drinks at Philly restaurants and bars this week as we head into St. Patrick’s Day this Saturday, March 17! Also enjoy many museum exhibits and shows, Science After Hours: Cosmos at The Franklin Institute, The Philadelphia Orchestra All City Festival at the Kimmel Center, where to watch March Madness games in Philly Bars; Congrats to Villanova, that Franklin Square is now open and so much more, you might need a vacation after this week!

National History Day 2018: Citywide Competition ~ March 14 & 15 ~ Held at the National Constitution Center from 9 am to 1:15 pm both days. (For Philadelphia area) Each year, thousands of middle and high school students and teachers across the United States participate in National History Day, a yearlong educational program that culminates in a national contest every June. Students compete in a local contest, the winners move on to a state competition, and those winners move on to the national competition in Washington, D.C. Philly-based bassist Bert Harris and string player Jocko MacNelly are joined by Kimpedro Rodriguez on drums, Richard Orr on woodwinds, and V. Shayne Fredrick on vocals. Live Irish Music with Stephen Dodds at Plough & The Stars ~ March 16 ~ FREE – From 6 pm to 9 pm at Plough & the Stars. Stephen Dodds, from Scotland, will play many of your favorite Irish songs, while playing some of his own as well. ~

Irish Breakfast & Celebration March 17 ~ Held at Plough & the Stars. From 7 am – 10 am: Judge Jimmy Lynn’s 19th Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Breakfast ($25 pay at door) * Noon – 8 pm – Live music from Stephen Dodds * 1 pm Philadelphia Runners stop in – 65 of them for 65 pints of Guinness * There will be Irish music, Irish dancers, bagpipers throughout the day with food served all day (different menus depending on time of day). ~ Updates ~
