Campo’s Cheesesteaks – Cheesesteaks in Philadelphia

Campo’s Philly Cheesesteaks is in a prime location in Old City Philadelphia. If visiting Philadelphia around Olde City and visiting the historical parts of the city, you might be hungry after walking to such places as the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, the National Constitution Center, or the Independence Visitor’s Center. All of which are approximately 4 to 6 blocks from Campo’s.

Campo’s Experience & Atmosphere

Campo’s first started in 1947 by Ambrose and Rose Campo as a little grocery store. They thrived on customer service and quality foods, which has led to success and  3 different locations. Besides the Market Street establishment, you can also get Campo’s at the Wells Fargo Center if watching a Flyers or Sixers game, or at Citizens Bank Park if watching a Phillies game.

If you don’t live in or near Philadelphia, you can have your food delivered to you from Campo’s. They give an added touch with the food you order by adding a Philly soft pretzel, tastykakes, a Philly post card, and a few other items. All things Philadelphia. click here

The staff at Campo’s are friendly and helpful. I couldn’t decide one night and explained to the counter help what I was craving for. She recommended the Stockyard. This cheesesteak seems like a beast, filled with chicken, steak, pepperoni, bacon, fried onions, with mascapone and american cheese. I truly enjoyed this combination and there is a picture below.

Campo’s does have a few of their own signature sandwiches such as the “Flyers Ice Steak”, which has Philly cream cheese, fresh tomato, jalapeno cheddar, and oregano. You also have the “Heater”, which is a spicy cheesesteak with jalapeno cheddar and buffalo hot sauce and the “Stockyard”, which I mentioned above. All of Campo’s rolls for their sandwiches are made by Liscio’s Bakery.

When it comes to cheesesteaks in Philadelphia, everyone has their own tastes and preferences, and I certainly would recommend Campo’s. Campo’s has a wide selection of cheesesteaks, hoagies, and other sandwiches. If visiting Philadelphia, especially when exploring the history of Philadelphia in the Historic District of Philadelphia, don’t forget to check this place off your list.
