Are you ready for a long weekend of fun and relaxation? Many people seem to be making plans to go outside the city. Why, when there is so much to do within this awesome City of Philadelphia.

Why not go to some place in the city that you haven’t been to before. Try something new. Make a new family experience or tradition. Try some of the new restaurants, bars, and museums that have opened lately in the city. Experience the history of Philadelphia, allowing the kids to take part in certain activities around the Independence Hall.

Your kids can join the Continental Army for marching drills and musket etiquette. How about raise the flag with Betsy Ross. Or listen to historians as they tell the story of every day Philadelphians during this moving version of the Declaration of Independence.

Many Philadelphia’s museums and attractions will honor the men and women of military, both past and present, while hosting Memorial Day events throughout the weekend and on Memorial Day itself. Let’s not forget those men and women who have fought for our Freedom!

This weekend also kicks off with the opening of the Spruce Street Harbor Park and the Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, and the continuation of the Lego Art exhibit at the Franklin Institute and Beneath the Surface exhibit at Penn Museum. Also enjoy Memorial Day Weekend activities, Fourth Friday, magic shows, farmers’ markets, and much more.
