Things To Do In Philadelphia – Philly Beer Week, Philly Bike Day and more!

‘Keeping In Shape or Drinking The Week Away – Which is it?’

It certainly feels like Summer now, even though the official day of summer begins on June 21. Maybe starring at the fountain picture will cool you off on those hot days.

Just when we had 2 whole months of food festivals, it seems like it’s time to get in shape. You can walk the Manayunk Wall, participate in the Manayunk Fit Fest, or enjoy free yoga classes by Dhyana Yoga yoga studios down at Race Street Pier.

If you want to head in the other direction, you can certainly indulge yourself with the many different beer events during Philly Beer Week from May 31 – June 9. Philly Beer Week kicks-off tonight with the Open Tap Ceremony at 6:30 pm at the Independence Visitor’s Center, followed by a beer tasting event. There is also the Irish Festival on June 2 at Penns Landing.

How about the Best of Both Worlds! You can play it right up the middle and enjoy a few good beers and then work the calories out of your system. Now matter how you slice and dice it, there will be fun for all in the whole month of June. Don’t forget to check out the many free events below, especially several of the museums that are opening their doors to the public for free on specific days. However, they do encourage small donations to help, so please keep this in mind, which helps them keep their doors open.

Did you know : Philadelphia was named 1 of the top 10 US travel destinations for 2013. Also named for having the best sandwich in America, #2 in best burgers in the country by Travel + Leisure and in the last 8 months, the city has been recognized for top 10 parks in the world, best cheesesteaks, and #1 in Culture. We can feel that the list will be growing in 2013.

Here at MyPhillyAlive, we like to share these events and attractions with you. Here are a few highlighted events or attractions for this weekend in Philly and some upcoming attractions or events to put on your calendar. Please don’t hesitate to stop by here tomorrow for any new updates of what is going on this weekend or during the week.
