Anyone stuff yet from the many food festivals that have taken place in Philadelphia recently?

Well, strap on that horse feeder, because the mega food event of all Philly Food Festivals takes place this weekend. The 9th Street Italian Market Festival. Who truly gets excited about this event!

A quick roundup of the food festivals and events that have already taken place. We already had the 2nd annual Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival, the Philly Farm & Food event, Flavors of the Avenue on East Passyunk, the PIFA street fair, the Festival of Forgotten Foods, the South Street Head House Spring Festival, the Strawbeery Festival, Plazapalooza Festival, Pie in the Sky Kite and Food Truck Festival, the Philadelphia Burger Brawl, Fitler Square Spring Fair, and last night, the Philadelphia Night Market Street Food Festival.

This weekend, you’ll have the 9th Street Italian Market Festival, Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival and the Brewerytown Spring Festival  In the coming weeks, get ready for Philly Beer Week starting May 31. What’s your favorite food festival?

Did you know : Philadelphia was named 1 of the top 10 US travel destinations for 2013. Also named for having the best sandwich in America, #2 in best burgers in the country by Travel + Leisure and in the last 8 months, the city has been recognized for top 10 parks in the world, best cheesesteaks, and #1 in Culture.   • Art After 5 ~ May 3 ~ Free with admission, from 5 pm to 8:45 pm. Ice cream Time – The PRISM Quartet, composer and electric guitarist Nick Didkovsky, and sonic alchemist Thomas Dimuzio perform Ice Cream Time, an evening-length work by Didkovsky that explores the boundaries between human-generated and software-generated music. Held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the Great Stair Hall, starting at 5 pm. ~ Art After 5 ~
  • Philadelphia Phillies ~ May 17 to 19 ~ A three game series against the Cincinnati Reds at Citizens Bank Park. Irish Night May 17th! Cool Tip! Free face painting before every Sunday home game by Paint Your Face, inside McFadden’s Ball Park from 10:30 am until the game starts.   • 9th Street Italian Market Festival ~ May 18 & 19 ~ Bring your appetite for this 2-day event. The city’s largest block party, the streets will be lined with vendors offering Italian delicacies, live music on stages at three specific locations, games and crafts for the kids & more. ~ 9th Street Italian Market Festival ~
  • American Craft Beer Week ~ May 17 – 19 ~ Check out some of the Craft Beer specials at some of the local bars in Philadelphia. ~ American Craft beer Week ~
  • Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival ~ May 18 ~ Noon to 5 pm. Between Broad & 19th Streets, the festival will have food, music, fashion, arts and entertainment. Also help PhilaBundance out & purchase raffle tickets for some great restaurant packages supplied by Starr Restaurants.   • Preakness at the Piazza ~ May 18 ~ From 5 pm to 9 pm, held at the Piazza at Schmidt’s. Come help fight Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Many types of packages offered. Food, Beer and prizes for women in hats and men in bowties.  ~ Preakness at the Piazza ~

  • Brewerytown Spring Festival ~ May 18 ~ 12 pm – 5 pm, at 2700-2800 West Girard Avenue. The event will include food, live music, specials from local businesses, 15 to 20 unique food trucks from the Philadelphia Mobile Food Association (PMFA), kids’ activities, AND talented arts and crafts vendors. ~ Brewerytown Spring Festival ~
  • Taste of Philadelphia: Market Tours ~ May 18 & 22 ~ Starts at 10 am every Wed & Sat – Learn the story behind cheese steaks, hoagies, pretzels and other Philly food favorites, and the 114-year history of the vibrant Reading Terminal Market where they’re sold during this 75-minute, food-writer-led walking tour. ~ Taste of Philadelphia: Market Tours ~

  • The Artifact Lab – Mummy Conversation at Penn Museum ~ Now until (no date set) ~ Here is your chance to get up close and personal.
